Yemi Alade describes her perfect partner’s traits and physical features
Nigerian singer Yemi Alade recently shared her thoughts on what she considers the ideal traits in a partner. She emphasized that her perfect man should have a sense of humor, but also know when to be serious.
Speaking with Nigeria’s VJ Adams in an interview, the “Johnny” singer highlighted physical traits she notices first in a man, mentioning beards, eyes, height, and composure. When VJ Adams asked about her initial attractions, Alade responded, “I think beards are good. It would definitely be the eyes, the composure, the height, and then eventually what comes out of that mouth. Funny is good but not a clown. There’s a tiny line there.”
She added that she values modesty in a partner and appreciates a balance between humility and confidence. “I would say someone who is modest. There isn’t too much braggadociousness, but there’s also the ‘let them know’ vibe. I don’t like people that brag,” she shared.
With over a decade in the music industry, Yemi Alade has reached several career milestones. After winning the Peak Talent Show in 2009, she signed with Effyzzie Music Group and rose to fame with her 2014 hit single, “Johnny.” Alade has since released notable albums, including *King of Queens* and *Mama Africa*, and has completed several world tours.
Her accolades include two MTV Africa Music Awards for Best Female Artist (2015, 2016) and a nomination for Artiste of the Year (2015), making her the first female to win consecutive MAMAs in this category. Additionally, she became the first African female artist nominated for the MTV Europe Music Awards (2015) and has received multiple BET Award nominations for Best International Act: Africa. She also debuted at No. 4 on Billboard’s “Next Big Sound” chart in 2016.
