Police engage political parties as they unveil plans for electoral security
The Ghana Police Service, in collaboration with other security agencies, has engaged representatives from all political parties in preparation for the December 7 general election.
With just 16 days to go, the meeting took place on Thursday, November 21, 2024, to discuss the security services’ readiness and commitment to ensuring peace and security throughout the electoral process. Measures being implemented to guarantee a peaceful and fair election were also outlined during the meeting.
This engagement followed a meeting on Wednesday, November 20, between the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, and senior journalists and news editors.
During that meeting, Dr. Dampare assured the media of the police’s dedication to ensuring their safety during the 2024 elections.
