Moesha Bodoung Opens Up About Post-Stroke Life, Family Seeks Public Assistance
Ghanaian socialite and actor Moesha Bodoung has bravely shared her health struggles nine months after news surfaced about her suffering a stroke. In a recent phone interview with nkonkonsa.com, Moesha revealed that she has encountered significant difficulties with both her speech and mobility.
“I went off completely and I was in bed for several months. I couldn’t walk, I couldn’t talk and couldn’t do anything. I thank God I am better now. As you can see, I talk now even though I am still struggling to speak properly. Half of my body is paralyzed now. One of my legs and one of my hands are not functioning now. So I can’t type on phone now, I can only talk on phone,” Moesha explained during the interview.
Despite her condition, Moesha is optimistic that she will be healed completely. “I know God love me, I know will not let me down and I believe in God so much now and I believe God will heal me completely and make me a superstar for the world to know me. I will use my fame and influence to spread the good news of God all over the world,” she added.
In January, her brother, Ebito Bodoung, announced her condition publicly and launched a GoFundMe account to gather support for her medical expenses. In a statement posted on January 22, 2024, he expressed the toll the stroke has taken on her life. “Hi I’m Ebito, my sister Moesha Bodoung recently experienced a life-altering stroke, and her journey to recovery has just begun. The impact of stroke on her life has been immense, affecting her mobility, speech, and overall quality of life. But we believe in the power of God, love, support, and community to bring about positive change,” he stated.
As of now, approximately $5,158 has been raised from the GoFundMe campaign, which aims for a total of $10,000 to cover Moesha’s medical needs. Moesha has acknowledged the support she has received, stating that the funds will be directed toward her recovery efforts.
Her brother further elaborated on the importance of the campaign, emphasizing, “By contributing to this campaign, you will be directly supporting my sister’s rehabilitation journey. These funds will be used to cover medical expenses, therapy sessions, assistive devices, and any other resources needed to aid her recovery.”
Ebito expressed his deep gratitude for the kindness and compassion shown by those who have contributed, stating, “Your support means everything to us and to our beloved sister. Let’s come together as a community and make a lasting impact on her journey to recovery!”
He urged the public to donate and join their family’s story of resilience and hope, underscoring the collective effort needed to help Moesha regain her independence and rebuild her strength.
