John Mahama unveils comprehensive job creation plans for the youth
The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), former President John Dramani Mahama, has assured Ghanaians, particularly the youth, of the party’s commitment to creating jobs through a series of ambitious initiatives. These include establishing a Women’s Development Bank, the 24-Hour Economy, the One Million Coders programme, and the National Apprenticeship Programmes.
In light of these proposals, Mr. Mahama urged the youth not to lose hope in the country’s future. He expressed confidence that under his administration, if voted into office, these initiatives would help address the unemployment challenges in Ghana.
In a Facebook post after his tour of the Upper West Region on Tuesday, October 15, Mr. Mahama reiterated his message to the youth, writing, “Thank you #UpperWest NDC youth wing, Wa UBIDS TEIN and the TEIN branches from other tertiary institutions in Wa for the campus connect programme on Monday night.”
“I encourage the youth to have hope again and believe in the future of Ghana because the next NDC administration has laid out a number of job creation initiatives including the 24-Hour Economy, the One Million Coders programme, the Adwumawura and National Apprenticeship Programmes, the establishment of a Women’s Development Bank among others.”
Mahama’s tour of the Upper West region was part of his broader campaign to engage young people and highlight his party’s solutions to the pressing issues of job creation and economic development, which have become central themes of the NDC’s electoral message.
