“Here We Go!”: Afua Asantewaa ready for another shot at GWR longest singing marathon record
Ghanaian singer Afua has announced the date for her second attempt at breaking the Guinness World Record for the “Longest Singing Marathon by an Individual.” In a social media post on November 15, 2024, she revealed that the highly anticipated challenge will commence on December 21, 2024.
Although Afua did not disclose the exact duration of her upcoming attempt, she expressed her excitement, writing, “Here we go!!! I’m excited and ready.”
Her announcement has sparked widespread support, with fans, celebrities, and fellow Ghanaians applauding her resilience and encouraging her to keep pursuing her dream.
Afua first attempted to set the record in December 2023. The event, held from December 24 to 29, amassed significant support from Ghanaians at home and abroad. However, her effort was disqualified by Guinness World Records due to breaches of certain guidelines.
Despite the setback, Afua’s determination to succeed has inspired many, as she prepares to take on the challenge once again with renewed vigor.
