EC’s Managing Director officially hands in his resignation letter.
Dubik Mahama has resigned from his position as the Managing Director at ECG due to personal reasons. This move came after President Akufo-Addo appointed Mr. Mahama in May 2022, following the retirement of the former Managing Director, Kwame Agyeman-Budu. “I also wish to express my sincerest gratitude to the President for the trust placed in me, which has been a significant aspect of my journey here,” part of his resignation letter read.
Despite not providing an official reason for his resignation in the letter, it is evident that Mr. Mahama’s experience in both the private and public sectors, including his previous roles as a non-executive director at ECG and other companies, contributed to his appointment.
Moreover, Mr. Mahama’s background as a legal practitioner and a graduate of the University of Ghana showcases his diverse skill set and expertise in various fields. His previous positions as a non-executive director at GIHOC Distilleries, Country representative for Gulfsouth Forest Products, and Partner at Dubik &Associates, Wilkins Engineering, among others, further demonstrate his extensive experience in leadership roles.
By stepping into the role of Managing Director at ECG, Mr. Mahama took on a significant responsibility in overseeing the operations and strategic direction of the company. It is clear that Mr. Mahama’s resignation marked a transition in leadership at ECG, with President Akufo-Addo appointing him to succeed Kwame Agyeman-Budu.
