EC and security forces oversee nationwide distribution of election materials

The Electoral Commission (EC) has initiated the nationwide transfer of ballot papers and election materials to designated holding centers in preparation for the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.

The six-day exercise commenced on Thursday, November 14, in Accra, with the transfer of parliamentary ballot papers from printing facilities in the North Industrial Area to the Greater Accra Regional Police Command.

Similar operations are being conducted across all regions to ensure the secure and timely delivery of election materials.

In the Upper East Region, ballot papers have been safely stored in the armory of the Regional Police Headquarters in Bolgatanga. This process is being closely monitored by EC officials, security personnel, and political party representatives. Representatives from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) expressed satisfaction with the security measures.

In the Ashanti Region, election materials were received under strict supervision at the Kumasi Police Depot. The EC’s Regional Director, accompanied by party representatives, verified the materials to ensure they were accounted for and properly secured.

Political parties in the region have pledged to monitor the materials diligently to prevent any potential tampering.
