Dancehall star Stonebwoy speaks on political stage performance invitations

Ghanaian dancehall artist Stonebwoy has revealed that he recently received an invitation to perform at a National Democratic Congress (NDC) rally in Kawukudi ahead of the December 7, 2024, general elections.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, the award-winning musician disclosed that although he did not personally engage with the party representatives, he is aware of the request and is considering the offer based on the financial terms.

“I’ve received calls from various political parties to perform. The most recent one is from the NDC. We’re assessing the fee, and if all goes well, I’ll perform for my fans and channel some of the funds into my upcoming BHIM Festival,” he stated.

Stonebwoy stressed that his performances at political events are not partisan but are intended to promote peace and unity among Ghanaians.

“As we approach the elections, all I want is a peaceful process. Whether I’m on an NDC, NPP, or CPP stage, I’ll be performing for peace. Ghana comes first, and in the end, we must all win as one nation,” he added.

Fans and political analysts are now keenly watching to see if Stonebwoy will accept the offer and take the stage at the Kawukudi rally.
