Award-winning actress Jackie Appiah shines again at the Africa Movie Academy Awards
Ghanaian actress Jackie Appiah has been awarded Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 2024 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAAs), held on Saturday, November 2, in Lagos, Nigeria. Jackie earned the prestigious recognition for her performance in the film Red Carpet, produced by renowned filmmaker and costume designer Samira Yakubu, who also manages Jackie’s career.
Directed by Frank Rajah Arase, Red Carpet features a stellar cast, including Grace Omaboe, Selly Ghally, Kalsoume Sinare, Roseline Ngissah, Adjetey Annang, Abeiku Santana, Deyemi Okanlawon, and Beverly Afaglo.
This recent win adds to Jackie’s history of success at the AMAAs. She first won the award for Best Supporting Actress in 2007 for her role in Beyonce. In 2010, she received her first Best Actress in a Leading Role award for The Perfect Picture, produced by Shirley Frimpong Manso. Over the years, Jackie has received several nominations for her impressive performances in various films.
