Asantehene endorses Alan Kyerematen’s Great Transformational Plan(GTP) during his campaign visit
On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, Hon. Alan Kyerematen, the presidential candidate of the Afrafranto Alliance, visited the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace. He was accompanied by his running mate, Kwame Owusu Danso, and other leaders of the Alliance. The visit was part of the Caravan Campaign Tour in the Ashanti Region ahead of the December 7th General Election.
The highlight of the visit was the Asantehene’s endorsement of Kyerematen’s Great Transformational Plan (GTP), which he described as a visionary blueprint for sustainable economic growth and prosperity in Ghana. “Your plan is a well-thought-out national development plan that holds solutions to our most pressing problems,” said the Asantehene, urging Kyerematen to ensure that Ghanaians fully understand the depth and significance of the GTP.
The king’s endorsement reflects the growing support for the GTP, which has been praised by various sectors, including the private sector, academia, and civil society organizations. They recognize the GTP as a forward-thinking strategy that addresses key economic, social, and governance challenges in the country. Otumfuo’s support further solidifies Kyerematen’s credibility as a candidate with a plan that can change Ghana’s future.
As a former Minister of Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen’s experience in economic development is evident in the GTP, which is organized into clusters tackling crucial areas such as economic revitalization, infrastructure development, industrialization, and governance reform. The plan also emphasizes youth empowerment, digital transformation, and agriculture modernization, all aimed at resolving the country’s ongoing issues like unemployment, economic instability, and poor infrastructure.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II highlighted the detailed and long-term focus of the GTP, noting, “The detailed nature of the GTP makes it stand out as the blueprint that can finally put Ghana on a steady path to prosperity.”
As Kyerematen continues his 21-day campaign tour of the Ashanti Region, the energy around his candidacy is growing. With the endorsement from the influential Asantehene, the GTP is being viewed by many as the roadmap to transform Ghana’s fortunes for generations.
During the visit, the Asantehene also took a moment to personally wish Alan Kyerematen an early happy birthday, adding a special touch to the occasion.
