A Nigerian music producer breaks record for the longest recording marathon.
On February 10, Mr. Abasifreke and Beatisblaak Studio embarked on a monumental challenge: a 95-hour, 59-minute marathon recording session. This incredible feat surpassed the previous record set in Nigeria in 2022, which stood at 40 hours and 19 minutes. Idem Abasifreke’s determination was evident as he fell just one minute short of completing a full four-day session. His ultimate goal was to establish himself as the world’s famous music producer while providing emerging musicians with a platform to showcase their talents.
“With the happiness in the faces of the music artists and their willingness to record for an hour each, every day was a new experience, music and vibes. I was happy but busy praying for success”, he stated as reported by guinnessworldrecords.com. Despite the grueling schedule, Mr. Abasifreke remained dedicated to ensuring the success of the record attempt. He meticulously monitored every aspect of the process during the five-minute breaks given for every hour of recording. “As a music producer I’ve been working a lot of day and night sessions,” he explained.
“We planned to set the record at 100 hours but our timer stopped exactly at 96 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds”, Mr Abasifreke added.
Despite the hard work and challenges, Abasifreke said the achievement “it’s a dream come true.”
“I am still surprised and happy,” he said.
Despite the obstacles faced, Mr. Abasifreke expressed immense joy and gratitude, describing the achievement as a dream come true. His unwavering passion for music and dedication to his craft have truly set him apart as a remarkable talent in the industry.
