Kumawood icon Kyeiwaa shares lessons on education and life abroad

Renowned Kumawood actress Rose Akua Attaa Mensah, popularly known as Kyeiwaa, has emphasized the significance of education, particularly for young Ghanaians aspiring to live or work overseas.

In a sincere video posted on her Instagram account on November 26, 2024, Kyeiwaa reflected on her personal experiences since relocating to the United States. She admitted that her limited educational background has created obstacles, particularly in communication and daily interactions. “If you don’t go to school, you might not be able to communicate in English just like me. I have been through it, that is why I am advising you,” she stated.

The actress pointed out how inadequate formal education can restrict opportunities, including access to better jobs and smoother integration into society. According to her, these challenges highlight the necessity of taking education seriously, especially in developed countries where language and qualifications often play pivotal roles.

Addressing Ghanaian youth, Kyeiwaa appealed for them to value the sacrifices their parents make to support their education. “While your parents are struggling to cater for your education, don’t let it be in vain. You might not feel the impact today, but you’ll face the consequences later,” she advised, urging them not to overlook the long-term benefits of schooling.

Social media users reacted warmly to Kyeiwaa’s heartfelt message, expressing gratitude and sharing their own reflections on the importance of education. Her video served as both a warning and a call to action for young people to invest in their futures through learning.

Kyeiwaa, celebrated for her iconic roles in Kumawood films like Akurasi Burgers, The Code of Money and Death, Abebrese, Ogyam, and Cross Road, continues to inspire fans with her life lessons and professional accomplishments.
