Mahama is living rent-free in their [NPP] minds” – NDC’s Afriyie Ankrah mocks Napo

Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto committee, has criticized Dr. Matthew Opoku-Prempeh, also known as Napo, the Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), over a recent campaign misstep.

During a rally, Napo mistakenly urged voters to support the NDC’s John Mahama in the upcoming December 7 election. The slip, which he repeated twice, has become a talking point among Ghanaians, eliciting both amusement and discussions across political divides.

Commenting on the incident during an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Mr. Afriyie Ankrah attributed the mistake to an alleged NPP preoccupation with John Mahama. “One mistake is okay, but to repeat it twice means Napo needs help. He needs deliverance. He must be delivered because this is not normal. The spirit of the NDC and Mahama has taken over him. They are always dreaming about Mahama. It’s as if Mahama is living rent-free in their minds,” he said.

Mr. Afriyie Ankrah suggested that Napo’s blunder reflects growing internal struggles within the NPP and serves as evidence of the NDC’s increasing appeal. “When an NPP leader like Napo calls on Ghanaians to vote for John Mahama, it shows that the NDC is now the most attractive party,” he stated.

He further urged voters to embrace the NDC, positioning the party as the better option for national transformation.
