Regina Daniels addresses rumors about marriage choice and family’s initial resistance

Nollywood actress Regina Daniels recently opened up about the initial opposition she faced from her family regarding her marriage to politician Ned Nwoko. In a live social media session, the actress addressed longstanding rumors suggesting she had no choice in marrying Nwoko, who is significantly older.

Daniels shared that her mother and other family members were initially against the union. She also revealed that when she met Nwoko, she had other suitors but ultimately chose him as her husband.

Reflecting on the moment she first encountered Nwoko, Daniels said, “I was going to visit my boyfriend, I was so angry, I was like, ‘Mum, why do we all need to go visit and go sightseeing?’ But when we got there, we met a cute man. Moral of the story: Your boyfriend should not stop you from finding your husband.

“When I saw him with my husband, I forgot I was supposed to have a boyfriend. At that time, I had like 20 boyfriends. All serving different purposes. When people think I didn’t have a choice or my mum forced me, not knowing that my mum was against it. My full family said no, but one day, I am going to share our story.”
