Nadia Buari discusses the challenges of romantic scenes in acting
Ghanaian actress Nadia Buari recently shared insights into on-screen romantic scenes, explaining that kissing scenes are purely make-believe, crafted to create authentic moments on screen. “They are not real. It is make-believe. However, we are trying to convince people, so we were really kissing, but it is just that it is real for the characters, not for the actors. There are no feelings involved,” she clarified.
Buari emphasized that actors must detach personal emotions from these scenes, which are typically performed in front of large crews. She noted that kissing scenes and fully embodying a character’s emotions are among the most challenging aspects of acting.
Returning to the big screen after a break, Buari stars in “Forever in a Night”, a new film produced by John N. Okwugo and directed by Jameel Buari. The movie is set to premiere on November 9, 2024, with screenings at both Accra Mall and West Hills Mall in Accra.
