Shatta Wale urges Ghanaians to apologize to John Mahama
Dancehall musician Shatta Wale has urged Ghanaians to apologize to former President John Mahama for voting him out in the 2020 elections. In a video circulating on social media, the “Mahama Paper” hitmaker criticized citizens for complaining about the current economic hardships, pointing out that they voted against Mahama simply because they “didn’t like” him.
“You people have the option to choose and it’s Mahama you want, but because of shame, you have disappointed yourselves and disappointed Mahama. Ghanaians chose Akufo-Addo because you said you don’t like Mahama, now when Akufo-Addo came to power you see what is happening in the country,” Shatta Wale tweeted.
He further stated that Ghanaians, including himself, benefitted from Mahama’s leadership. Shatta Wale emphasized the positive relationship that both John Mahama and his brother, Ibrahim Mahama, have maintained with the creative industry, particularly musicians.
“All of you, you have to go and beg Mahama. Because when he was in power, the benefits I received, anybody can say I have endorsed Mahama, I don’t care. His brother, Ibrahim Mahama, even cherishes creatives,” he added.
