Wa Central Women’s Organiser for NPP suspended indefinitely.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper West Region has taken the decision to indefinitely suspend its Wa Central Women’s Organiser, Takora Attawa. This action comes as a response to what the party deems as consistent gross misconduct on the part of Madam Attawa, which has been found to be in violation of specific Articles within the NPP constitution. The suspension was formally announced through a statement that was signed by the Constituency Secretary, Mumuni Abass Sidik, who emphasized the core values of loyalty, discipline, and unity that the party upholds.
“This decision is made in accordance with Article 3(7)(1) of the NPP Constitution, which empowers the Constituency Executive Committee to suspend any officer who misconduct him/herself or shows intransigence pending an enquiry by the disciplinary committee,” part of the statement read.
Madam Attawa has been instructed to refrain from assuming the role of the Constituency Women Organiser until a thorough investigation into her conduct is completed. This decision was made in alignment with the provisions outlined in Article 3(7)(1) of the NPP Constitution, granting the Constituency Executive Committee the authority to suspend any officer who demonstrates misconduct or defiance pending a formal inquiry by the disciplinary committee. The statement also urged Takora Attawa to deeply reflect on her actions and recognize the repercussions they have had on the party as a whole.
