The Nigerian singer and songwriter Korede Bello has finally shared on the reasons why he left Marvin Records in 2021.
The “Godwin” hit maker who made impressive hits as he joined the Marvin Records of Don Jazzy in 2014 ,has revealed in an interview his reason for leaving the Record label. While speaking with KimOprah on the Hit TV interview, Bello reveals that’s he wanted to rediscover himself as an artist and not just as a product which generates revenue for the label.
He does not deny the fact that making making is important to keep the business but also knowing ones self better helps in creating beautiful music and connection with the people.
In his work , he felt the sense of losing himself and wanted to take time away from music to rediscover his true self. He wanted to reconnect with himself, understand himself and know his actual purpose in life.
In his words , he said ” I was at a season in my life where I needed to metamorphose and to explore my inner worth.
Korede Bello made it known that his department actually gave him that, as he was able to fully release his artistic side and connect more to his music as an artist and not just for the commercial purposes.
The artist further makes it known that, artist sometimes gets to a point in their career where they do not really connect with their music but are only focus on making hits no matter what the cost may be.
He also made it known that, in the process of just focusing on making hits, some artist lose sight of reality and themselves that they lose their purpose in life. As he didn’t want that for himself, he decided to draw back and find his purpose.
